Too young for this.

Darn it, I’m much too young to feel like such an old lady. How am I going to get my body to cooperate & do what I want it to do? At this point in time I’m ready to trade it in for a new model… any ideas where I can find a New Body Shop?

Most of you will know, I’ve been through the mill with my health last year with lots of pain & 3 operations followed by rehab to get the muscles strengthened & flexible again. I was hoping that this year I would be fully recovered…

The good news is that my back’s recovering nicely from the operation last year & the prosthetic disc wasn’t harmed during my fall in February.

The bad news however, is that I have a protruded disc & damaged vertebrae in my neck pinching a nerve and causing much pain & numbness in the hands, making even the most mundane tasks like cooking & washing painful. I was hoping that I wouldn’t have to see any more hospitals any time soon, but it seems that I’ll have no alternative but to have the vertebrae fused back into it’s place so it can stop moving & causing havoc with the nerve.

My physiotherapist & biokeneticist both agreed that there is unfortunately no alternative solution for my neck problem. I thought I could postpone this op indefinitely but unfortunately, with the right hand now also starting to become affected, & headaches more frequent, it seems I have no choice lest I loose the function of my hands. I have therefore been scheduled for a disc removal & fusion on 8th June at Flora Clinic & will be out of action for a few weeks again. However, if all goes well, Mom’s taxi should be able to run as normal again after the school holidays.

I pray for a speedy recovery & that this time it really will be the last operation for the rest of my life…

Do you need a Doctor’s Certificate?

I’ve just been to the doctor & just before I left he asked if I needed a medical certificate for work.  “No” I replied, “I’m a housewife & don’t think my husband would require me to have a medical certificate for not being able to do my chores today.”

His response was astounding… I sat amazed as he told me this story:

Not so long ago the doctor had a patient who was ill. Knowing she was a housewife he jokingly asked if she needed a medical certificate. “Yes please give me a sick note so I don’t need to mow the Lawn today” she replied. Thinking she was joking he played along & gave her a sick note.

Later that day a very angry husband phoned him asking how dare he give his wife a sick note because she was supposed to mow the lawn that day. The doctor thought he was playing along with the joke & laughed. Much to his surprise the husband got more angry until finally he realised this husband was not joking. They had their allocated jobs & his wife’s job was mowing the lawn & he was furious because she couldn’t mow the lawn that day.

I drove home wondering what that husband would have done if his wife had to have an operation. Who would do her chores during her recovery? Would that marriage have ended up in divorce because the wife wasn’t able to do her “job”? Since when are chores more important than a spouse’s health?

This made me once again realize what a stunning husband I have. Thank you Schatzi for being a one-in-a-million hubby… for supporting me through 3 operations & months of recovery last year… for coming home after a long day at work & still helping me with my household chores, just because my body just won’t cooperate… After almost 18 years of marriage you still treats me like your queen. Thank you for that.

WIVES, if you are fortunate enough to have a one-in-a-million hubby that supports you no matter what… appreciate them & HUSBANDS if your wife needs a sick note for not being able to do her chores, SHAME ON YOU!

WoW, how Great is the Power of God!

I received this email today & was totally blown away…

This morning my brother Andreas phoned me in tears and all he could say was

“pray sister, I have just come across an accident where a truck is on top of a car. Please Pray”

My family and I prayed immediately and thanked Father God for the power that He is sending to the

Area and the instructions that He gives His angels to go and help.

About 2 hours later my brother called again and said…….

“she is out with only a cut on her finger”
